Starting in the Month of November we are changing our prize support for our weekly draft (so that it is easier to remember) and our FNM (and other $6 tournaments).
Drafts: 1.5 packs per person (rounded down) will be divided up by the Tournament Organizer for the top finishers. Gateway foils will help fill out the prize pool (while supplies last)
Drafts will be played in 3-4 rounds.
FNM and $6 tournaments: 1 pack per player, and additional .5 toward prize pool (rounded down), for the top finishers (again at the TOs discretion). For FNMs, 4x FNM foils will also be given out, 1 to 1st, and 2nd and 2 randoms, as well as Gateway foils (while supplies last)
FNMs are still going to be played in 4 rounds
The major change is that Store Credit will no longer be available as a prize. You will win the packs awarded.
Generally packs will be your choice of the most recent Core set or one set of the recent Block.

Yugioh Tournaments will also move to $6 entry fee per person, and use the same prize support as above.
1 pack per person, and an additional .5 pack toward prize pool.

going from 6 packs to 1 participation pack and participation foil for the same record and a relatively high tournament placing (3-1, 5th) did kind of suck.

I'm going to talk it over with Andrew but we would appreciate any constructive criticism on our payouts and ways that we can make magic fun for everyone and not just the tourney players. We want magic to do well at our store and after talking with a lot of store owners they have explained that the casual players are the ones that do this because a town our size probably only has a handfull of tourney players while it can have a few hundred casual ones. So to keep magic healthy and alive in Wilmington we need to find a way to keep the tournament players happy with tournaments geared towards them but also find ways to keep the casual players coming back. We are always open to ideas and criticism and welcome your feedback.
